What a shame you missed out on all of those dollars exchanging hands. Let’s be sure to put an end to this, so from now on you are able to accept payments via your website. To do this, we will be using the PayPal system.
PayPal is a worldwide, online payment exchange gateway. It allows people to accept and transfer money with customers, clients, and other businesses. eBay, Inc. owns PayPal and each year it has been in existence it has gained more and more acceptance with the general public. Therefore, it is a wonderful gateway and tool for you to use in your business to accept payments via your website.
One of the great things about PayPal is people trying to pay you money don’t have to even have a PayPal account. They can use Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, bank transfer, even eCheck via the PayPal system. This means less of a barrier between your clients and customers paying you for your products and services. It is a great invention. Integration into small businesses all around the world is a must.
Setting Up PayPal On Your Website To Accept Payments
The goal of this tutorial is to show you how to set up and accept PayPal payments on your website. You will be able to create a Pay Now button that allows the payee to click the button, insert the amount of money they would like to pay you, then do so. In my opinion, this is a great solution for business owners who deliver various services in their business. It will even work for those of you who have products are accepting sales, but don’t have a full e-commerce solution on your website complete with shopping cart. Let’s jump right into things and get started.
Step 1: Login to PayPal
The first step is straight forward. Login to your PayPal account so we can get started. If you don’t have a PayPal account at the moment, take a moment to get one. It is free and doesn’t cost you a cent to sign up. You can get your PayPal account here: http://PayPal.com. Once you have it, login to your account.
Step 2: Click Merchant Services
Next thing you want to do is click Merchant Services at the top. See the arrow in the image above.
Step 3: Click Buy Now Button
In the center of the page, you will see the Buy Now Button. Click this button and it will take you to the next page below which will give you the opportunity to set up your Payment Center.
Step 4: Scroll Down A Bit to Find the Section for Step 5
At this point of the PayPal process, you want to keep things the same as they are. The next change you will make is below. It is not very difficult, but makes all the difference.
Step 5: Change Button Name & Create the Button
We have multiple steps to take care of this step, but it is not difficult at all. After you scroll down a bit on this page, you will find the “Customize text or appearance” drop down. Click it to expose the drop down and you will get the option to change the name on the button. Drop down the “Select button text” to expose the Pay Now option. Once complete, scroll down the end to “Create Button” and you are all set with this step.
Step 6: Get Code To Add Payment Outlet To Website
After clicking the Create Button in the last step, you will see the page above. All you have to do is grab the code spit out and put it into your website to make everything work perfectly. Copy the code above and past it into your website where ever you would like the Pay Now button to appear and you are all finished.
In just a few steps, you are able to start accepting payments via your website. Telling clients and customers to visit your website, click the Pay Now button, and fulfill their obligation to your business is great for your business.
