Philanthropy

If I can run 26 miles, you can donate $26.

Health is Wealth! I am running the 2010 Chicago Marathon this October and have been on a serious training regiment in preparation for it. Most marathoners, I can call myself that as I am training for one, raise money for an organization or a worthy cause. I am no different.

My aim is to raise money for a donation to the Hazel Crest Public Library. The reason to make a donation to any library is an investment in the future in hopes that with this information embedded into the community, it will be better than it is today.

Financial education in a financial society is critical to the development of every community. In order to encourage this, funds are being raised to purchase financial education tools, programs, books, and software to engage the children and give them a solid foundation of money, finance and how it can work for you in the world. As they grow, hopefully they don’t make many of the mistakes others have of maxing out credit cards, being reckless with debt, and not understanding how a sound investment plan can make their life easier over the long run.

To do this:

We plan to purchase the financial education tools, programs, books and software. What type specifically is still being decided. If you have any suggestions or input, we would love to hear it as this donation will be made, so it may as well make the biggest impact for our dollars. Chime in and let’s hear what you have you to say.

Currently Planned:

As of 7/27/10, we are leaning towards purchasing as many sets of Robert Kiyosaki’s Cashflow 101 and Cashflow for kids and similar online versions as well.

Goal: $2,000
