1934 Ford Water Pumps

The year of 1934 was a rather interesting one for Ford and their water pumps. It was only 5 years after the infamous stock market crash of 1929. The people were still trying to get their footing in a new financial world. The Federal Reserve was still a reletively new creation in the system of money and the people were weary.

However, out of this madness blossomed the year of 1934 and Ford produced some of the best looking and practical automobiles of that time. It was considered crazy at the time because Henry Ford started producing V-8 automobiles for $550. Agreed, five hundred and fifty dollars was a lot of money, but for a luxury of an automobile, it was unheard of.

There were two 1034 water pumps in these automobiles. One water pump in each of the heads. The goal was to stop the over heating that was occurring in some of the earlier models. However, this problem wasn’t fixed until 1937 when the water pump was moved to the block. The problem was the position of the pumps that drew heated water through the blog and heads instead of pushing the cooler water through them. So, it was working backwards.

The problem of the 1934 Ford Water Pumps had been solved. All it took was some quick thinking, a few years, and moving the pumps to the block, instead of in front so that it would continue to pull the hot water instead of push the cool water.

It was and is this type of innovation that put Ford at the head of the automaking community. And it is going to take this type of innovation to restore them back to top. They have to remember the magic of the 1934 Ford Water Pumps.
